  • Please note: A Beach Boys concert will begin in Wellesley at 5:00 pm on Sunday, May 18. Traffic into Wellesley Center will be blocked. When departing Olin after the commencement ceremony and subsequent events please avoid Rt 16 and Rt 135 west and pursue alternate routes.

Rehearsal
There will be a ceremony rehearsal for the graduates at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16 in the ceremony tent on the Great Lawn.

Commencement Schedule

Saturday, May 17

  • 4:00 - 6:00 pm - President's Reception

    Sunday, May 18 

  • Guest entrance to the tent will be staggered as follows:
    • 2:00  Guests requiring assistance
    • 2:15  Class of 2008 families
    • 2:30  alumni and other invited guests (e.g., President's Council)
    • 2:45  Classes of 2009, 2010 and 2011
  • 3:00 pm - Ceremony begins
  • 4:30 pm - Ceremony ends and a reception follows in the Oval

    Caps and Gowns/Invitations
    Graduating seniors should have returned their cap and gown form to Carol Kelley in the Office of Student Life. The College is covering the cost of cap, gown and hood for each student who marches.

    In early April, each graduating senior will be given six commemorative announcements to inform family members and guests of the date and time of commencement (additional announcements can be requested and will be distributed on an as-available basis). Please note that these announcements are not formal invitations, and no invitations or tickets are necessary for admittance to the ceremony.

    All graduating seniors and their immediate families are invited to the President’s Reception for the Class of 2008 on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 4-6:00 p.m. A toast will be given at approximately 5 p.m.
    Yearbooks
    The Olin College Yearbook is a wholly student-run endeavor that sets out each year to produce the best yearbook possible. This year, students will publish a full-color, hardcover yearbook.
